[Playlist] Jessie J

I still fall on my face sometimes and I can't colour inside the lines, 'cause I'm perfectly incomplete, I'm still working on my masterpiece.

Conheci a Jessie J no final de 2014, quando ela cantou Masterpiece na final do The Voice US, junto com Chris Jamison, meu participante favorito daquela temporada. Antes disso, ironicamente, eu apenas reconhecia o seu nome como "aquela do about the money".

Além de Masterpiece, minhas favoritas são Who you are e You don't really know me.

From now on (and indefinitely), Monday is the day of music in the blog. I can't live without my earbuds, I've got dozens of playlists for everything and they're always getting bigger, specially after I started using Spotify (which will be the topic of a future post, someday). To start, I choose someone who was my Top 1 last year.

I still fall on my face sometimes and I can't colour inside the lines, 'cause I'm perfectly incomplete, I'm still working on my masterpiece.

I discovered Jessie J at the end of 2014, when she sang Masterpiece at The Voice Us Season 7 finale, with Chris Jamison, who was my favorite from that season. Before that, ironically, I would recognize her name as "the one about the money". But two things about that performance caught my attention: First, the lyrics, that I relate a lot to; it was love at first listening. Second, Jessie's posture on stage, taking all the focus from herself to Chris, and they sang as equals. Since then, I started to admire her as a person as much as an artist.

For this playlist, I choose 18 songs. Besides Masterpiece, my favorites are Who you are and You don't really know me. All three have a positive message about self esteem, that speaks a lot to me. I hope you guys like it!
